Acupuncture is a complete medical system that has been used ongoing for the past 3000 years. It is both safe and effective. It has helped millions of people become and stay well. An underlying premise of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is harmony and balance of body, mind and spirit. ‘Health’ is regarded as the body’s normal state; ‘dis-ease’ results from imbalance. Just as blood circulates through the blood vessels, qi (or life force) flows through specific meridians that are precisely located throughout the body. By tapping into specific points along these meridians via stimulation, the flow of qi is altered and balanced. This is achieved through non-invasive methods such as those described in the Acutonics section or by the insertion of tiny, sterile, single-use disposable needles. In this process, areas of deficiency are tonified, and areas of excess are dispersed. The body’s natural abilities to heal and balance are stimulated. Balance is achieved. As a result, symptoms are relieved, and the patient becomes stronger and more resistant to ‘dis-ease’. Healing of body, mind, and spirit is achieved.
